About Us

We're building AI that can use Computers

We are an AI research lab focused on bridging the huge gap between thinking and doing

Our Philosophy

Modern enterprises run on software. Critical work happens inside legacy systems, proprietary dashboards, internal tools, and complex graphical interfaces that were never designed for automation. While models have learned to reason, write, and converse, they remain largely incapable of acting inside the environments where real work actually happens.

This gap, between intelligence and execution, is the core bottleneck holding back applied AI.

At Pinetree Research, we believe that solving computer use is a prerequisite for general intelligence. An AI system that cannot reliably operate a computer cannot manage real workflows, adapt to novel tools, or function autonomously in human-built environments. True intelligence requires the ability to perceive interfaces, form plans, and execute actions across arbitrary software systems.

We are building computer-use agents that can navigate real applications, reason over visual and structured information, and carry tasks to completion in production environments. These agents are designed for enterprise settings, where reliability, auditability, and scale matter, and where automation cannot rely on clean APIs or idealized integrations.

Our long-term goal is not just better automation. It is to establish computer use as a core primitive of intelligent systems. By enabling AI to operate the same tools humans use, we lay the groundwork for agents that can generalize, adapt, and ultimately act as autonomous collaborators across the digital world.

Computer use is not just a feature. It is the bridge from models that think to systems that act, and the first step towards AGI.
